Merritt Academy's Vision Statement
Our vision is that students leave school with:
-
A set of moral values – honesty, integrity, good judgment, and respect for others.
-
A comprehensive set of skills and a desire for knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics, science, arts, technology and health including developing a strong self-esteem and high personal expectations.
We value the partnership which exists between school, parents, and community and the part it plays in realizing this vision.

My name is Mrs. Perkovich and I am one of the Kindergarten teachers here at Merritt Academy. This is my 6th year teaching. I am a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood General and Special Education. I am currently working on my masters in the K-12 Literacy Specialist program at SVSU. I am also a dance teacher at Dancer's Edge Studio. I recently got married to my husband, Chris. We have two fur babies; a multipoo named Zoey and an Australian shepherd named Piper. Mrs. Giannosa is one of my two sisters and she is a 1st grade teacher at Merritt Academy. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, boating, and shopping at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. I truly enjoy working at Merritt Academy with the awesome staff and students!
